posted 08/06/2010

RXHL Player Riley Bourbonnais finished tied for 3rd in scoring among the best 1993 born players in the country at USA Hockey's 17U National Camp.  The Greece native racked up 3 goals, and 6 assists for a total of 9 points in 5 games.

Bourbonnais was part of the State Champion Greece Thunder's undefeated '08-'09 team where he was a first team All-State Selection.  In '09-'10 he led the Maksymum JR Team in scoring with 69 points in 41 games.  This Fall he will head to the prestigious Berkshire Prep School in Massachusetts on a hockey scholarship.

RXHL's Dominic Trento also participated in the National Camp and tallied 1 goal and 3 assists for 4 points.  Trento played the '09-'10 season for the New York Applecore JR A team.  He will play for the Rochester Stars JR A team this upcoming season.

The two 17 year olds were among a handful of Rochester area players selected by USA Hockey to participate in the National event which is used to identify those players who have the ability to compete at the College, International, and Professional levels.

Former RXHL player Joel Goodsell has committed to play for Division I Bentley

The 5'11" 1990 born Goodsell played 41 games for the Bandits tallying 13 goals and 22 assists.  Goodsell played with Bandits team-mates John Mousso and Justin Scharfe who are also RXHL Alumni.  Mousso, also a '90, has committed to DI Mercyhurst.  Scharfe, a '91, is a former D&C All-Greater Rochester Player of the Year award winner.  All 3 will likely play at Bridgewater for one more season to develop their games before heading off to college.

What is the RXHL?

Welcome to The Rochester X-Treme Hockey League!  We offer a FUN and affordable way to cap off the season for players 4-18 years old.   The league runs from April through late May.  The playoffs are completed before Memorial Day weekend, so the kids have time to enjoy the nice weather and other sports!  We offer programs for all skill levels in Mites, Squirts, Peewees, Bantams, and even all the way up to a highly competetive High School/Junior level.

The league began at Webster Ice Arena in 2001 with only 8 teams, since then we have grown to become the largest and most popular Spring Hockey program in Upstate New York.  In 2010 more than 385 players participated on 34 teams.

The league features very unique rules, and a relaxed, pressure free atmosphere for kids of all ages and skill levels.  All divisions are no check, this league is about speed, creativity, and fun!  Many kids consider the RXHL the "highlight" of the hockey season!   All games are played at the Webster Ice Arena..

There are no affiliation restrictions, we have players from every association in Rochester.   If you have any questions please

For more detailed info on our spring programs please check back in January!

This is the only opportunity Nick and Collin get to play together. We made the trip every Thursday and Saturday and he looks forward to the Spring League as much as his regular school games.

Just wanted to say Thank You for giving them the opportunity, this is a well run league and we can’t say enough.

Dan...

I just wanted to take a minute and let you know what a great job I think you guys did this year.

In the Mite division every team beat every other team at least once.  All the way from picking teams to running the games I thought it was well done.

Thanks for all the efforts., Mike Rougeux

We will definitely be back next year. You put on a great program. Great job !!!!

Buddy Edwards

Dan,

Just wanted to say thanks.  This league was a lot of fun for both Graham and me.  Hopefully, we’ll be around next spring and can do it again.

Dan,

My name is Jeff Flowerday. This is my son Jack's second spring with you and he played in the Bantam group. I must say you guys did a great job making the teams even.  This made for some great games.  Our coach was a great guy also.  All in all it was a great end to the season.  I just wanted to thank you for a very well done spring hockey league.

Best wishes

Jeff Flowerday

Dan, We had a great experience with your program. Jason enjoyed it very much.
I thought you ran a wonderful program. Thank you for finding a team for him. We look forward to participating hopefully, with both our boys next year.

Jodi Carville

Dan…it was really a special experience assistant coaching for the RXHL Hall team.  Having kids of all skill levels made the experience even better.  I think every player was so excited to play!  My son Nicholas loved it!  I can’t wait for next season!
